Indian Red Cross Society is a premier humanitarian organization which through its diverse activities takes up the young generation to take part in social services. Young minds play aMkey role on social inclusion, humanitarian aid and environmental matters.
Yenepoya Physiotherapy College, has a Youth Red Cross Unit which actively involves in all the activities of Youth Red Cross society of Yenepoya Deemed to be University, such as blood donation camps, leadership training, Basic Life Support training, district level competitions etc.
Prof. Lourdhuraj I, Prinicipal (Yenepoya Physiotherapy College) is the chairperson of YRC unit of Yenepoya Physiotherapy College and Ms. Shaisree K Thilakan, Assistant Professor (Yenepoya Physiotherapy College) is the program officer.
The students are motivated at college level and given a chance to enhance their humanitarian services to the society and also to buildup leadership qualities as a YRC volunteer and they are also given with necessary recognitions required at each phase of their volunteership.
YRC volunteers from YPC, accompanied by the program officer, participated in the District level competition on January 11, 2023, organized by the Indian Red Cross Society Dakshina Kannada, Youth Red Cross Unit, YDU, and Mangalore University at Yendurance Zone, showcasing their dedication and commitment.
Five enthusiastic YRC volunteers from YPC actively engaged in a leadership camp focused on understanding the Constitutional pillars of India. The camp was organized by Alva's Education Foundation, Moodubidire, in collaboration with the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Government of Karnataka. The event took place on the 25th and 26th of January 2023 at Vidyagiri, Moodubidire, where participants gained valuable insights into the fundamental principles of the nation's governance.
YRC volunteers from YPC, in conjunction with the Nodal Officer of Youth Red Cross at Yenepoya Deemed to be University, alongside other program officers, teamed up with the Wenlock District Hospital authority for a rewarding one-week internship program. The program, held from April 24th to April 29th, 2023, offered YRC volunteers the opportunity to gain valuable insights and experiences at Wenlock District Hospital.
